About Curaçao
Curaçao (pop. 165,000) has a significant musical cultural heritage. The island is a true melting pot of African, European, Jewish, Latino, Arowak, Middle-Eastern and Asian descendants, with every global ethnicity, race, and religion represented and peacefully cohabiting on a tiny 444 square km. Each descendant group has left its indelible mark on the island's folklore and shaped all aspects of its cultural heritage.
You will experience the best of the island, with the first half of the retreat taking place in the capital of Curaçao, Willemstad, a Unesco Heritage site rich in culture, arts, and centuries-old architecture. For the second half of the retreat we will move to the western part of the island to be surrounded by the island's rugged nature, sacred pools, salt-mines and caves, incredible beaches and majestic sunsets.
